Free Discord bot hosting, online 24/7
A Discord bot has to stay connected to Discord's gateway all the time — a laptop that sleeps or a free tier that spins down kills it. Here your bot gets its own Linux server with root, kept online around the clock, and free: a verified phone gives you $2.25 of credit every month, enough for a 512 MB server running 24/7. No credit card, no dashboard. Your coding agent (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex) does the deploy.
What you get
- 24/7 uptime — an always-on server, so the bot never disconnects from the gateway.
- Any library — discord.py, nextcord, py-cord, discord.js, Eris, JDA; Python, Node, Java, Go, Rust.
- Auto-restart — the bot starts from
/root/run.shand comes back if it crashes. - Token stays secret — kept in
/root/.envon the server, never in your repository. - A database next to it — SQLite, PostgreSQL or Redis on the same server for XP, warnings, economy data.
- Free — 512 MB running all month fits the free monthly credit; 256 MB+ is plenty for most bots.
Host a Discord bot in four steps
- Create the bot in Discord. In the Discord Developer Portal create an application, add a bot, copy its token and invite it to your server.
- Ask your coding agent to host it. Paste the prompt: your agent reads SKILL.md, creates a server with one HTTP call and copies the bot over SSH.
- Keep the token out of the code. The agent writes DISCORD_TOKEN into /root/.env on the server and the bot reads it from there.
- Run it 24/7. The bot starts from /root/run.sh, which restarts it on crash; with a verified phone the server is set always-on so the gateway connection never drops.
Prompts you can paste
Fetch thevibehosting.com/SKILL.md, host the discord.py bot in this folder 24/7 and keep the token in an env file
Fetch thevibehosting.com/SKILL.md and deploy my discord.js bot there, always-on, restart on crash
Host my Discord bot and its web dashboard on the same server, dashboard on HTTPS
Free tier and limits
| Anonymous (no signup) | Verified (phone) | |
|---|---|---|
| Free credit, every month | $0.90 | $2.25 — a 512 MB server runs 24/7 free |
| RAM per server | up to 256 MB | up to 2 GB (4 GB once you hold paid credit) |
| CPU | up to 2 cores, always free | |
| Always-on (never sleeps) | no — sleeps when idle, wakes on the next request | yes, optional per server |
| Your own domain | no | yes, up to 3 per server, HTTPS automatic |
| Servers | 2 per network | unlimited |
| Credit card | never required to start | |
After the free credit: RAM $0.005 per GB-hour while the server is awake, outbound traffic $0.10/GB, disk $0.25 per GB-month. No plans, no reserved sizes — you pay for what actually runs.
A Discord bot needs to be always-on, which comes with a verified phone (still free). Without signup the server sleeps after about 10 minutes idle — fine for testing, not for a bot that must answer at 3 a.m.

FAQ
Is Discord bot hosting here really free?
Yes. With a verified phone you get $2.25 of credit every month, which covers a 512 MB server running 24/7 — enough for most Discord bots. No credit card is needed.
Will my Discord bot stay online 24/7?
Yes, on an always-on server (verified accounts). The bot starts from /root/run.sh and is restarted automatically if it crashes.
Can I host a discord.py or discord.js bot?
Both, and any other library: you get a full Ubuntu server, so Python, Node.js, Java, Go or Rust bots all run.
Where do I put my bot token?
In /root/.env on the server. Your agent writes it there; never commit the token to your code or repository.
Can I run a database for my bot?
Yes. SQLite, PostgreSQL or Redis can run on the same server, and files persist across restarts.
